Searching for a purpose
Yvonne, a 23-year-old from Accra, Ghana, was facing challenges in securing full-time employment. Before joining Generation, she spent most of her time helping her mother with her work. While this was rewarding in its own way, it didn’t provide the career growth or personal development she was hoping for. Like many young women in her situation, Yvonne found it difficult to see a clear path toward a stable job and a better future for her and for her family.
Joining a Generation program
Yvonne heard about Generation Ghana’s Digital Customer Service program and saw an opportunity to change her situation for the better. Her expectations were clear: she wanted to develop herself both personally and professionally, learn new skills, and gain the confidence needed to secure a job. With the hope of finding a stable career, Yvonne joined the program.
Becoming more confident
The Generation Ghana program was transformative for Yvonne. She embraced the challenges, worked hard, and absorbed everything the program had to offer. After completing the program in 2024, Yvonne was ready to enter the job market with a newfound sense of purpose. The skills she acquired helped her become more confident, and she felt ready to pursue her career goals. Yvonne’s journey didn’t positively impact just her own life—she also became an inspiration to others around her, especially for young Ghanaian women who were facing similar challenges.
“To my fellow women, I would like to say that Generation is here for you, so you should also take advantage of this amazing opportunity and benefit from one of Generation’s programs.”
