Searching for a pathway to independence

Claudiu immigrated to Spain from Romania with his family as a child. In his early twenties, he studied business administration in university, and then began working with his father in the family real estate business. Nevertheless, he yearned to carve out his own path.

But the way forward was not obvious. That is, until he came across Generation’s ad for a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program through a youth employment initiative in Spain.

Learning new skills for life

Despite his degree in business, Claudiu learned the most about working in a team through Generation. “It helped me discover a new part of my personality,” he shares. He believes Generation’s emphasis on soft skills was among the most important things he learned in the bootcamp, and considers these skills to be some of his top strengths today.

Because he lacked a technical background, the programming component of the bootcamp was challenging for him. But he received a lot of support not just from mentors and instructors, but also from his classmates (and future colleagues). He persevered!

“Generation for me is a community, where I feel like I’m in a family.”

A career in technology in just 3 months

His resilience paid off. After the program finished, he along with many of his classmates were hired by Prosegur — a partner organization that co-designed the RPA program.

Prosegur launched an ambitious initiative to launch a Center of Excellence in Automation. The goal was to form an RPA team from scratch and begin automating operations at scale within a year. With the help of Generation, and talented individuals like Claudiu, Prosegur was successful in its endeavor.

Today, more than five years later, Claudiu is thriving in his career in RPA. He loves his work and his financial independence allowed him to pursue a new dream — to move back to Romania to raise his children. He currently serves as EMEA Head/Project Manager, Intelligent Automation at NEORIS and works remotely from his home in Romania.

“I can honestly say that Generation changed my life,” he told us.
